We are E X P A N D I N G!

We have secured an additional 2,500 square feet of space for the museum. Our former neighbor that we shared the building with, Miyoko's Creamery, has been so successful that they outgrew their space early and had to move to larger quarters. This created an unexpected opportunity for the museum to expand into their adjacent space and add new gallery areas for our exhibits. Literally make a giant hole in the common wall between the spaces and presto– the museum is almost twice as big. Now, it's not quite that simple of course, but this gives us the ability to have a dedicated library and a private meeting room space, along with a dedicated office for our archives and a nice office for a future executive director. And let's not forget about additional storage space!

We have already made good progress on the new space but the COVID closure and lack of funding have slowed our progress to a crawl. The re-framing is done for the walls, exhibit spaces and offices, the rough-in wiring, sprinklers and plumbing are all in, there is insulation and taped and textured sheetrock, and some painting & trim have been completed. The exhibit gallery cabinetry has been partially installed. Even thought a lot has been accomplished, we still need to finish many areas including:

  • Sprinkler Trim
  • Painting
  • Doors and millwork
  • HVAC
  • Lighting Trim
  • Library Cabinetry and Furnishings
  • Metal fascia for upper level bike displays
  • Exhibit display fixtures

We could be done in just 90-120 days with enough funding. There are important naming opportunities for several new areas of the museum for larger donors. This is your chance to play a larger role in helping us complete our vision of this world-class bicycle museum and cultural center. Will you help us today?
